Microphone access
MikeNet asks the browser for microphone access only when you start a soundcheck. The browser controls permission. The capture stream stops when the recording finishes, you cancel, the page is hidden or you leave it. A saved browser permission may remain until you revoke it in the browser’s site settings; that is separate from an active recording.
Recordings, measurements and device settings
Audio samples, take labels, measurements and browser-reported capture settings remain in page memory. There is no audio upload endpoint, speech-recognition service, external model, cloud recording account or server-side result history. We do not use local storage, IndexedDB or cookies to retain takes.
Clearing the takes removes the app’s references to recordings and releases their playback URLs. Leaving or reloading the page discards the session. This is not a claim of forensic erasure from your device’s memory.
Downloads are your choice
A download creates a local file only after you request it. A measurement receipt may include a browser-scoped microphone identifier, sample rate, processing settings and your take note. Review it before sending it to anyone. The website does not receive the downloaded file, and downloaded copies remain until you remove them.
Website hosting
Cloudflare serves the website. Normal requests necessarily disclose connection information such as your IP address and requested URL to the hosting provider. Operational request logs may be available to BarnLabs and Cloudflare for security and fault investigation. Microphone audio, take notes and calculated measurements are not attached to those requests.
Fonts and scripts are served with the site. There are no third-party analytics scripts, remote fonts, session replay, advertising scripts or social-media embeds on the live product today.
Advertising status and US privacy choices
No ads currently run on MikeNet. Auto ads and manual ad units are not enabled in production. A public AdSense ownership meta tag and an ads.txt file at the site root may be present so Google can verify publisher ownership; they are not advertising scripts and do not cause recordings to be shared with advertisers.
MikeNet does not sell or share recordings for cross-context behavioral advertising. There is no “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” advertising switch to operate while advertising is disabled. Global Privacy Control does not enable any collection.
If advertising is enabled later
Before any advertising release, BarnLabs will update this notice, review consent requirements for applicable regions, and only then allow third-party ad scripts under a separate product change. When ads are active, third parties including Google may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads. Users can review how Google uses data when you use partners’ sites or apps at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and use Google’s ad settings tools described there.
