MikeNet / Soundcheck
Updates.
A short public log of curation on this site. Review dates on pages are not marketing freshness; this log names the real changes.
19 September 2026 — Simpler soundcheck, same measurements
- The homepage is the microphone test: record, listen, change one thing, compare.
- Capture updates are batched so the 12-second check stays responsive. Quiet and speech are shown on the page.
- Symptom guides remain at their own URLs. No new keyword pages. Ads stay off.
17 September 2026 — AdSense inventory and listening guides
- Added guides for headphone A/B listening, laptop vs USB comparison, and echo/speaker spill.
- Expanded About, Privacy and Editorial pages with clearer publisher identity, advertising readiness language and maintenance expectations.
- Kept advertising scripts off. Ownership meta and ads.txt remain for account verification only.
17 September 2026 — Soundcheck hardening
- Fixed A/B playhead preservation, segment playback and capture cleanup edge cases.
- Added plosive and calling-app mismatch guides; thickened About and Editorial copy.
- Retired calculator paths continue to return HTTP 410 with a retirement notice.
16 September 2026 — Soundcheck pivot
- Replaced the household-energy calculator site with MikeNet Soundcheck: guided 12-second capture, waveforms, room/speech segments, two-take A/B and local downloads.
- Published original measurement methodology for RMS, dBFS, crest factor and near-full-scale sample counts.
- Published privacy, terms, accessibility, contact and editorial standards for the audio product.
What we will not invent for “freshness”
We do not rotate unrelated blog posts to look busy, republish scraped microphone reviews, or claim traffic, rankings or revenue we have not verified. New pages must solve a distinct user job or correct a documented defect. See editorial standards.
